Problem

A chemical company in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, that produces polymers for paints and varnishes was facing challenges with its existing treatment unit, which had insufficient capacity and was housed in a container too small to allow proper maintenance.

The system includes several key components: reactor tanks that dose ferric chloride, sodium hydroxide, and flocculants to condition the water; a strain press that effectively separates the sludge from the water; and a distribution system that deposits the dewatered sludge into two designated containers for further handling or disposal.
