Logisticon Water Treatment provides a sustainable solution in which the CWZI and PWZI function as DEMON reactors, while the nitrification reactor operates as a SHARON reactor. Sweco was responsible for the process design, and Logisticon handled the technical design. Together, the installation removes 600 kg of nitrogen daily, using the captured gas as fuel for a combined heat and power unit (CHP).
The goal of this ten-year pilot project is to demonstrate that, in the future, a cover layer may no longer be necessary for closed landfills, contributing to more sustainable landfill management.
