Protecting RED technology with high-capacity pre-filtration

Problem

A company that generates sustainable energy from the combination of fresh and salt water using RED (Reverse Electro Dialysis) technology was in need of an effective pre-filtration solution. To protect the REDstack membranes and ensure optimal performance, it was essential to install a pre-filtration system capable of processing 100 m³ of fresh water and 100 m³ of salt water per hour. This significantly reduces contamination of the membranes and supports efficient and reliable energy production.

Solution

Logisticon Water Treatment developed an installation designed to ensure efficient water treatment. Each installation consists of an influent buffer, four media filters with a diameter of 2,500 mm, a fresh water buffer, a waste water buffer, and a 10 ft control container housing the pumps, a blower, and the control cabinet.
